Gladiator model and its features

The Gladiator is the only pickup truck that Jeep carries. It can be powered by the 3.6L Pentastar V6 gas engine (285 hp and 260 lb. ft.) or the 3.0L EcoDiesel V6 (260 hp and 442 lb. ft.). An eight-speed automatic transmission is available with either engine. However, the six-speed manual transmission can only be paired with the gas engine.

Its towing capacity and payload can reach up to 3,470 and 725 kilograms (7,650 and 1,600 pounds) respectively.

Consumers will be able to choose from the following trim levels: Sport, Sport S, Overland and Rubicon. A forward-facing camera is available as an option on the Rubicon. Its role is to make it easier to spot obstacles while driving off-road.

Its 5.7 or 8.4-inch touch screen is paired with the fourth-generation Uconnect multimedia system. It is compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

History of Jeep trucks

As early as 1947, Jeep tried to break into the pickup truck market with a product designed by Willys-Overland. Ten years later, Jeep arrived with the FC-150/170, which was a truck primarily intended for work. Its advanced cab gave it a silhouette that could not be more memorable. In 1963, the very first Gladiator was born, borrowing its base from the Wagoneer.

In 1981 the first Scrambler appeared. This one was simply a CJ-7 transformed into a pickup. From 1985 to 1992, the Comanche took over. It was nothing more and nothing less than a utility version of the popular Cherokee.
